Sanity Check Your Rental Rates

AtsiknoudasAre you charging enough for your residential rental units—or are you plagued with vacancies because you’re charging too much? Now you can get a quick assessment of your rents with Rentometer. All you have to do is enter a property address, the number of units in the building and the current monthly rent. Rentometer will evaluate your price in comparison with other units in the area and let you know if you’re charging more, less, or the average for the area. It will also show you the location of comparable properties on Google maps. Investment Instruments Corp., the Newton, MA company that developed Rentometer, also offers Rentomatic. The application is designed to give small- and mid-sized property owners, property managers and investors an option to automate rent payments and communications with tenants. “Rentomatic exists to help both landlords and tenants manage their information, processes, and interactions,” explains company founder and CEO Allison Atsiknoudas. She says Rentomatic “creates happier landlords and happier tenants” because it provides landlords online property management services and lets tenants pay rent online, track their rental histories and communicate with their landlords.
